keyless entry code location on 97 eddie bower

Recently a lock smith told us that the code for our 97 exployer eddie bower edition should be located somewhere inside the vehicle. We purchase the vehicle used, and they did not know the code. Ford dealers said that for $50.00 they could get it for us. Is the code located in the exployer or not

I was thinking that it is on the rear hatch somewhere. also check the stickers on the door frames.

Look in the compartment on the drivers side in the back just over the wheel well and you will see a module with the code on it.
