I don't know on my 05 6.0 how I will do it yet, most likely every 10,000 miles with Mobil 1 Syn.!! I used and will cont. to use Mobil 1 Syn in my 01 7.3 and I put 87,000 miles on one oil change with it "during warranty period". Changed Filter and replaced lost oil every 10,000!! Never had an oil related problem using Mobil 1!! Put 380,000 miles on a chevy 6.5TD with it!! Put 247,000 on a 4.3 chevy with it and you could open the filler cap and the motor looked like it did when it came from the factory!! Yep, I was a GM man!! I think I have owned my last GM product!!

PM is the key to reliabilty. Myself, I do 3k to 4k oil changes and filter. In reliabilty we quite often exceed the manufactures reccomendation. Sure you can always test a sample after 7 and/or 10K but if the test comes back with bad news...the damage is already done.

If I did that I would have to change the oil every 2 1/2 weeks!! That's not going to happen!!
lifetime oil changes on a PSD would be great. Just the cost of oil and filter with every discount I can get it still runs $42 per change. You got a GOOD deal.
driving daily across country as a Hot-Shot ... most miles towing , many dead-heading to the next load , idling to keep me warm at night ... change every 5,000miles ...basically weekly ... oil changes happen on the road where ever 5,000 miles happens .... I change many times at Sagitt Ford in near Seattle ... they laughed that they knew they had good advertising but never had someone drive from IL for an oil change ... funny guys ! But they are definitely a "Power Stroke" dealer ... dealer full of accessories and goodies for the PowerStroker ..... they get my business everytime I hot shot to the Seattle area ...
The same engine (VT 365) in an International truck has a 10,000 mile oil change recomendation
Also note that the highest rated VT365 is 230 HP , so Ford is already squeezing an additional 100 HP at 1,000RPM higher than their International counterparts ( I still think that extra 100 hp is part of the problems Ford 6.0s are having ...add a chip and now you are 200 hp over the designers/manufacturers own version ....)
also notice the VT365 has a 19 quart oil system ...
I'd say 5,000 miles for all changes is about right ...unless all your miles are unloaded , warm engine highway miles , then maybe the 7500 mile change would work ok .... these puppies are a tad too expensive to try to save a few dollars running "old oil" in them .....

I know this topic has probably been beat to death but how many miles do all on this forum go between oil changes?
I drive about 15,000-20,000 miles a year and it mixes between city and hwy miles...
I have been changing my oil on my 04 6.0 every 4,000 miles and it seems like I'm changing it every month.......Thanks for any info.....drf
I have a 04-F350, CC, DRW, Lariat, 6.0, 13,600+ miles. I tow a 35 ft. 1/5 wheel & have changed the oil every 4,000 using Delo 15/40. I don't want to take the chance on extended oil changes. Better safe than sorry!!
I guess extended is a matter of opinion. For 15 yrs I changed the oil on my 89-F350, CC, DRW, 460ci every 3,500 miles. My 1965 Corvette, 396ci 425HP, was changed every 1,500 miles. All my vehicles go overy 100,000 miles without engine problems & I'm definitely not easy on them.
Every 5K. I rotate tires, change oil and filter, drain HFCM and if the 5k falls in conjunction with the 15K fuel filters I'm in heaven. I think these badboys are fairly easy and fun to do this maintenance on.
