I have an F150 p/u Would it be easier to replace the sending unit by dropping the tank or take the bed off? What is involved with taking the bed off? thanks
People here recommend to take the bed off. Loosen the six bolts that hold the bed to the frame, the filler necks and the numberplate light. Get a buddy to help you pull it back a little, just enough to reach to the tank in question. I'll be going that soon for my truck, too.
Pull the bed off! Trust me it's much easier working sitting down than lying on your back inhaling gas fumes. (I found out the hard way, and almost passed out!)
