kickdown cable hookup

i just ordered a lokar kickdown cable for my C6. i was reading somewhere that the kickdown lever, which i know needs to get pushed down in order to work needs to get flipped around so it will be facing the back of the tranny instead of the front like it is right now. is this true? and it is hard to do? will it screw up any of the gear positions or no? any help is valued greatly.

Yea, I agree with GeneStoner... the Lokar product is GREAT but the instructions are horrible!!

I had to get this cable to hook up the kickdown for my 460 / C-6 combination.

Willow, you are correct it does need to be pushed down. I hooked up the cable so it was a pull-pull system. I mounted the cable on the Tranny so it pulled back towards the rear of the truck. I then made a bracket to hold the lokar cable and mounted it to the drivers front stud on the Carb.

Hope this helps... I'd take pictures for ya.. but my Bronco is in Storage while I am here in IRAQ...

I am in the US Army and I am resposnsible for the operational readiness of 24 Firefinder Radars in our AO (Area of operations - which is north of Baghdad). These radars track incoming Mortar, Artillery and Rocket attacks. We then know where the round came from and I call in Artillery 155mm or MLRS counterfire to light them suns of biatches up! Depending on the area I also call in CAS (Close Air Suppor) either Apaches or even sometimes Fast movers (Jets F-15's / F-18's) . Occasionally I have to travel to sites to provide technical assistance on one of the newer radars we use. I was down in Tikrit - home of Suddam Hussien. Thankfully we have new (62 miles when I picked it up) Up-Armored M1114 Hummers.

So far so good over here... I miss good Beer (Sam Adams, Guinness, etc), Being able to use a toiled and not a porta pottie... etc.. I hope to be Back in Boston to watch my Patriots play this Fall / Winter.

Hooah Steve. Seriously though, your ROE allow you to dump MLRS on the source of a single mortar round comming in? Not that I mind, but Dayum!

Steve, haven't seen you on for a long time. If you get to Texas look me up and we can have some beers like we did in Korea.

Have fun pounding those *******s.

Hey Steve,

First of all, keep up the great work. I'm a jarhead '73-'75..also a Paramedic, who may be headed to Iraq about the time you may be coming home. I am waiting to hear if I'm to be a part of a Six-man security/Medic team or just healing those civvy contractors. May God continue to Bless you and all our brothers-in-arms over there.....Toby
