i just installed my new prodigy inertia sensing brake controler in my F350 SD PSD. i haven't towed with it yet. Anyone using this thing? if so, how well does it work..? any comments or recommendations..? thanks guys..
sorry if i posted this in the wrong forum, but thanks superrangerman for that reply, im still laughing...
posting that here is fine. the prodigy is probably the most used and reccomended controller among people "in the know". i love mine and have never heard of anyone the doesnt.
i paid $124.95, and they shipped it fed ex 2nd day at no charge. that included the ford harness, which i couldn't use. whoever hooked up the cheasy peice of crap that was in my mule, did a splice job on the wiring, so i had to splice this one in. my controler also came with a harness for this purpose, the end pluged in to the prodigy, and the wires were long and heavy gauge, nice kit, no complaints here. i only wish the original owner of this truck had installed this controler, but at least i got to mount it in a better position than the old one. install time was 30 mins, and i took my time. let me know if you want a link to the site that i bought from...
the prodigy has you set up a "max power" setting, then, when you step on your brake pedal, it "senses" how hard you are braking and applies a percentage of that power to your trailer brakes. You can "boost" the setting so that the controler is more aggressive in applying power, and there are 3 progressively more aggresive "boost" settings. it is a great looking unit, and i hope it really does work as well as everyone here says...!
