i got a problem. i sent a check via registered mail to canada on march 18. my friends in canada haven't received it yet. when i went to the post office they had no idea where it was but that it was probably caught up in customs. does it usually take to weeks for a check to make it through customs?
Do your friends know they have to sign for a Registered letter ?
Maybe it is being held at the post office waiting for them to show up ?
If they weren't home when the postal carrier was there ,they get a card stating where they have to go to pick it up
You can do a search if you have the registered number
I see it works the same up north as it does in the states. I got a notice for a certified letter just last friday, and I hope there's a fat check in it!
I know that when I sent a C/D to Dennis, and he sent some goodies back to me there was little if any delay at all.
It's possible that holiday mail from Easter is still jamming the systems.
To use the words "Postal" and "Service" in the same line is somewhat of an oxymoron in Canada. Like using the words Dependable and Chevy in the same sentence. Or Smart and Government.
I've had stuff from the states get here in 2 days, and also in 2 months. No apparent rhyme or reason to why either one arrived when it did.

First, if you send something from the US to Canada and it has a tracking #, you go to the US site to track it here and the Canada site to track it there, and it is the same number. (appears canada may have different length or format numbering system for mail)
Second, those who work for the Post office call it going UPS!
