axle help wanted
i have a 1991 F-250 4X4 with the danna 50 front axle and the large 10.25 ring gear axle in the rear. i was wondering how common it that 10.25 was in the F-250's? i have an 87 that i bought for parts and wondering how to tell if it has the same rear end thanks

That axle is standard in all f-250/f-350 trucks from 86 to 98 (semi float and full float), but the dana 80 was offered in the heaviest gvw trucks, and i've heard of a full float 8.8" in vans but those are rare, and i wouldn't sweat it.
The 10.25" are easy to id as well, just look at the rear of the axle, there is no plug and the ribs on the case are unique to the the 10.25".

They weren't many front axle used in the trucks either, 1/2 tons got the 44 TTB, light 3/4 got the 8lug 44, heavy 3/4's got the dana 50 ttb, and the 1 tons got the dana 60 solid front end after 85.
