changing the light color on dash
go to radio shack and pick up some LED's (color you want) a meter switch, and then a pack or 2 of 220 ohm resistors ( i think this is right for this applicatoin, you should be able to ask the radio shack heads, or just use OHM's law to figure it out) depending on how many LED's you get...Then install the led's in the dash everywhere you think the glow would come in handy! (you'll need 2 types of wire as well) RED and BLACK...
you want one RED line that is at least 14AWG run that straight from the battery through firewall hole into your dash. then off of this line you run power to switch, from switch you send power to led's which is often better at 18awg wire or cheapest you can find. You'll need to ground each light (negative is longer lead) to do this you just take black wire and touch it to any part thats on the frame/chassis. You may need to ground the switch as well, depending on what type of switch you choose.
This effect is awesome for making your vents glow, making ash tray lights (instead of switch you set your ground onto a plate that only touches its ground when the ash tray opens) under the seats (shining under your feet is a AWESOME EFFECT) and it looks way better then the cheesy stuff you buy at k mart and hook up to your cigarette lighters! Plus it takes nearly no power! You can use them anywhere, so be creative!
