4x4 front wheel brgs.
I just found out that the front wheel bearings on my "new to me" F150 4x4 need ajusting. The truck has Warn hubs with the stacked belville type washer for engagement as opposed to the pin type. I bought the tool for ajusting the nut ($20.50 cdn) but I need to know if there are any tricks to taking this type of hub apart. My last 4x4 was a '89 Ranger and the whole hub comes off on them and is a piece of cake to ajust the bearing play, but I am totally unfamiliar with the full size hubs so any help would be greatly appeciated. stevieray, I never took a ranger apart but when I bought my f250 4x4 I went to advance auto and bought a haynes manuel for it. It cost me about $15.00 and it was a life saver quite a few times ford had a couple of different rears in these trucks but if it is the same as mine once you open it up it is pretty self explanatory couple of snap rings and your down to the bearing nut just make sure you remember how it goes back together.

The first time you do it will seem like alot of parts in there but the second time it will seem like a brezze.I recomend a manual as well for its rather long winded and confusing to explain on a computer.Well just don't tighten the second washer(the ouside one) too much cause the inside ones the toqued one.The outside one is your bearing adjustment.Im already confusing myself trying to explain it.
