I have a 2002 F350 Lariat, supercab. I am looking to build a sub box for it, to house either 8" or 10" woofers. Have any of you built such enclosures to fit under the rear seat? Which direction should the woofers fire in a truck cab( i've dealt only with cars in the past)?
I need the box to be flush with the edge of the seat, for appearances.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
James
I actually built a box that fits in the center section up front, houses two eights, copy of the JL stealth box essentially, can be done, my past experience down firing is easier to work with and sounds well.
I'd rather my subs be under the rear seat. I checked after I posted originally, and there is extremely limited room. Cangim, under my back seat, should I point the woofers towards the front or back, or an angled shot??
There is a cute little "lump" halfway under the seat. I am excellent at woodworking, will having a box contoured for this stupid bump cause any problems?
James
I don't see where the lump would cause any problems, I'd angle them toward the front if possible, less likely to be blocked off. The last truck I had, I had subs under the back seat in the ext. cab, down firing, and they sounded just as great. The only reason that I put mine in the center is because I now carry way too much crap under and behind the seat that I didn't want to part with for a box.
