short box differences

short box differences
I have a 77 s/b and I"m looking for another box.A freind of mine told me about a s/b for sale in good shape but it is on a crew cab.I was told that the boxes from a crew cab are not the same and won"t bolt up.I would go measure but the box is 4 hours from here.And no phone.Can anyone tell me is there anything that is not going to work out.Thanks

That is hard, it it's shortbox to short box, the length should be ok, it's the width of the framerails that MAY be different. I put a box from a crew cab on my crew cab, and the length was ok, but the mounting points were about 3" inboard on the new bed, so what I did was use 2"x2" angle iron bolted to the frame, then bolted the bed onto the angle iron, it worked and is still holding nice and secure

The frontend of the truck was ran over by a log loader.My buddy said that they had to get a backhoe to dig the engine out of the dirt.But the box never got touched.So I don"t think so.I"m trying to get him to send me a pic so I can post it
