How does one program a remote?
I have a 04 Explorer with and was given an extra remote. The one with 3 buttons that lock, unlock and sounds the alarm. How do I program it to work with my vehicle?

Give this a try:
Switch the ignition on/off/on/off 8 times in 10 secs ending in the on
position (I think). If you do this correctly all the door locks will cycle
on the last turn of the key. When the locks have cycled quickly press any
button on the 'new' key fob to register it with your truck's system. There's
a time limit on this, so do it quickly. The locks should cycle again and
that's it.

The procedure is in your owners manual. I did it on my '03, but it's been a while back. One thing I do remember, is that you must program ALL of the remotes when you do it. You're actually programming your Ex's computer to accept the remote's frequency / data signiture. I'm not sure it will work with the 3 button, but it probably will.
