Constant they were, and constant they stayed
Even long after he went away
She never remarried, though she well could have
In her own mind, it would have been a stab
That her hero, unreturned, were pretended gone
Before she accepted the thing, as if to keep him alive
And so she held back on singing that song
As if so to forward the day he'd arrive
But she married a warrior - so proud and true
WHAT HE DID FOR HIS FAMILY
He would do the same for you
Because he saw everyone as parts of this nation
A Christian due needed, he never held back
And yet one who never gave less of his station
Following forever the bizarre training track
How to take things apart, without being seen
And not give a damn about what it means
And pick out the right one, who is doing wrong
To ensure for the peace loving ones that life won't be long....
And not let them know it, never to speak
The medals on his chest mute, for where he was not
No stories to tell of
The scars he had got....
The warrior fades away, no one knew him.
But among those who DO know,
The stories never dim...
