8.8 vs 9 in.

which are the diferents witheen this two axles and which is better??

9" -- stronger, have one extra bearing, but it does not come with an ABS sensor. "Better" depends on what you need. Equipping newer trucks with the 9" axle is difficult since the engine control needs the sensor there.

thanks you. I want it for my 1980 f-100 , witha 302`and i going to use it for the road.

A big drawback to the 8.8 in stock form is that the axles are retained with c-clips in the differential. If you break an axle shaft, the wheel and drum will come out.

There are c-clip eliminator clips, though. When I build my truck up, I plan on going to a 9".

The 9" is a much stronger axle, and it's strength goes deeper than it's .2" bigger ring gear. Many of the parts in the 9" are as strong or stronger than those found in a D60. The non speedo is not a big drawback if the vehicle is standard.

The 9" will do great in that truck.

thanks guys The engine has about 250 hp. witha ZF tranny that here in argentina is from a car named IKA Torino
