can anyone tell me exactly where fuel pump relay is on my 86 f150 dual tank.my information says driver side on top of wheel well but it's know where to be found.
My '88 and '91 are both in the same place. Drivers side, under the hood, on top of the fenderwell, just behind the air filter box. I mean toward the driver from the air filter box. There is a "thing" about the length of the air filter box mounted there with a plastic cover about 1 1/4" wide. At the engine end it says "TEST" on top of it and the last section isn't really attached to the rest of that mounting thing. Under that plastic cover is my Fuel Pump Relay and EEC Relay. Wires go to the bottom of those relays and down on the fenderwell to the main wiring harness connectors. Once you see the wires going under that plastic cover it's obvious it's more than just a bracket holding a computer test point. At least on the '88 and newer it's like that to maybe about '96.
thanks for the try carlos that's what my information says but i don't have filter box on fenderwell my filter box is mounted along side of motor & hose'ws run out along side of rad. and there's nothing like what you decribed on fenderwell
If memory serves correct it should be mounted on the drivers side fender apron near the hood hinge. For some reason that just rings a bell. What's up with your relay? if it just mysteriously quit working you might want to try unhooking the battery for a few minutes and then hooking it back up again. I had a 90 F150 that had something hookie and would trip the fuel pump relay out every now and then. This fixed it every time. Good luck.
