302 to 460 engine swap
I have a 96 f150 and I am wanting to swap in a 460 and keep fuel injection. I am a mechanic on industrial and forestry equiptment so I understand all the mechanical problems. What I need to know is what I will have to do to keep the fuel system and related sensors working properly.I have a 87-91 donor truck will this engine work. Any help or input would be appreciated.

302 to 460 engine swap
First off the trans bolt pattern are different from a 460 to a 302, you will have to change the trans. Having a donor truck will help, but you will have to change out the computer and harness for the engine. being that the newer truck uses an electronic speedo, you will have to make sure that you can wire in the speedo. You will have to change the towers. and front springs as the 460 is much heavier. the 302 radiator is also different and will have to be changed, along with a shroud. This seems like more work than worth.
