i've noticed a few guys using airaid intakes and now more and more using it. are not having any engine code problems? does it seem to improve the induction? why i ask is because when i 1st got my truck in jan-05 i set out for induction mods and i found airaid and liked what i saw but wasnt sure if i wanted to go that route or just charge my truck. then i seen post w/engine code trouble and idle problems. now that i've got my exhaust done its time for the induction i know the charger will work fine on the truck but if i buy a charger that kinda eats up the rest of the mod funds.where as the advertised gains with the airaid is fine w/ me and i would still be able to squece a little lift and rubber under my truck...any input appreciated, thanx
I installed my airaid and magnaflow catback at the same time. No code's or problems. My truck does have too much fast idle, when cold, but that has always been there, my service writer tells me that I need to update my PCM. I just need to find time to take it in.

thanx. i just cut behind the o2 sensors and ran 2 2"pipes out the back and tipped them w/ 5" chrome tips.man does she sound mean..i just might be getting an airaid.......
I installed and Airaid system. I did notice an improvement. However, I did have code problems that said one bank running lean. Ford tech reflashed the computer but it came back off and on. I put on a Borla catback dual exhaust. Never had a problem since......................
I put on the Airaid after my Borla exhaust and Superchip 1714 tuner, so I don't really know if there was a gain due to the intake or not. I do know that it sounds pretty tough when I punch into it. I did have codes showing both banks running lean and cleared them with the tuner and then I called Airaid and they shipped the redesigned intake tube with no questions asked.
From the reviews I have seen the AirRaid is a great choice. I want the chrom/stainless look so I am researching the following:
AEM Brute Force
Air Force One
K&N Chrome 77
yea i could use some chrome under the hood. would'nt a fat chrome or stainless duct look cool? i've toyed w/ the idea of fabing a chrome pipe coming out straight then y'ing off into 2 ducts in the grill. but i'm worried about air swirling at the y. using smaller pipe after the y should solve the swirl but i think it would look tacky w/ 2 different sizes of pipe....
so i'll proubly have problems w/ my factor cats if i install an airaid. i've already had a pcm reflash but i'm not ready to start messing w/ the pcm that'll be last.thanx for the in puts.......
By "charge"..do you mean Super/turbo charge...?
If you have the cash to super/turbo charge your truck.. DO IT!
Dont fool around with the 10 HP you MIGHT get from an intake or exhaust....

most diffently supercharge. i'm really interested in the whipple. i was looking at a eaton untell i seen the whipple i think that is what i'll go with if i decide to charge. i really like the upper pindlem mounted chargers verses the side mounted versions. my 98 cobra has a vortex w/9 lbs of boost does great i like it but my cousin has a 2000 lighting and the eaton looks clean and i really like how it takes the boost even though i think its only 6lbs (not sure about that) but the truck is fast....
