When i used to mud bogg with my stock 360 FE it would do 5500 R's for minutes at a time without letting off...then drive me to school all week long.

Dont go sayin these engines are bulletproof.... I was pritty darn nice to mine.. kept it full of oil.. didnt beat on it... and bam. I got rod knock and I am now pulling the engine.

Also... Maybe its because I have 33 in tires.. but I dont think mine would rev past 4500 rpms

There are some cases in ANYTHING where you have failures. Most motors will go a long time with good maintenance and proper treatment. A 300 will go forever as long as you don't make it live over 4000 rpm's all the time. The 302 will spin 5-6000 rpms and still live a long life. Some are more resilient then others. The 300 and the FE's seem (to me) to be the longest-living it seems, to me. The 302 is a hard one to beat...its just not suited to trucks as well as the FE's and 300.
