Im 22 with a 02 F250 PSD SC LB. I have lift, tires, some power upgrades, and a few things to make it look a little better. Check my sig and gallery for more specifics.
I just turned 27 in March - I bought my truck brand new in 2002 - traded in my 1986 F-350 and I paid for the new one - don't owe a dime on it. No mom and dad gift here - though I wish they would have!!
I am 24 but I am waiting on the 2007 Super Duty. I will be ordering a F250 Lariat SuperCab 4X4 short bed V10 4.30 L/S with just about every option. I almost bought this year but I had to pay off my college loans and then they cut off the model year early so I decided to wait another year to get the '07. I am going crazy waiting though.
My parents def. didnt pay for my truck. In my family business we have a few buses and work vehicals so i have been lucky enough that mom lets me use a gas card from work. So i am happy with that i dont ask for anything. I will take it though with the way gas prices are. I worked and continue to work hard for my truck. Im a Recording Engineer down in miami at Crescent Moon Studios and i regualry work a 60-80 hour week. So i work dmn hard. There are alot of us young guys and girls out there for that matter that have our stuff in order. We should be proud. I have alot of friends who cant afford a used toyota and thats all good but these kids are lazy and do nothing with their lives.live home at 25 and all. My KR is paid for and feels good to know i did it on my own at 23.
Well I see quite a few young owners here!!! Right on. I am 29 got my PSD when I was 26. Thought I was doing good then I saw all these younger guys on here with one. WOW. One thing I can boast about though, is how many of you have a 35foot 5th wheel toyhauler, filled with toys, 2 boys, a MILF, and two english bulldogs as tough as the truck? Lucky for me everything is paid off but the trailer, and that is soon!
I pay about $1650 a year for full coverage insurance with a $500 deductible. I hate payments, so I pay it in full when it's due. I owe about $5K on the truck so I can't have the $1000 deductible till its paid for (which will be next year). I have five siblings, so my parents didn't give me a dime to pay for the truck. I pay for fuel, maintenance etc. I just saved saved saved and got what I wanted. I'm the only guy in my college with a PSD Super Duty! (Yeah, it's a small college).
hell yea i hear ya dd1164 i am the only kid on campus with a stroker everyone else drives a toy 1/2 ton couple are lifted but nothin is as nice as my stroker and they still owe money on them and i can also say that i bought payfor fuel maintenence all that lovely stuff and i still pay for college its amazing what 70-80 hr work weeks in the summer can earn you
I just bought my truck a few weeks ago. Switched from a Dodge Ram 1500. I could pay the PSD off now if I wanted to, but I'd like to establish a good credit history.
Got my first F350 CC DRW in '96 age 19, traded it in 2000 for brand new PSD CC DRW , paid off in 3yrs.. paid cash for the 2005 thats in my sig right now for bday present in Nov. 2004.
Not to sound like anybodies dad, but has it ever been discussed that paying cash for a depreciating asset is a horrible investment?
Don't get me wrong, I haven't had a personal car payment since 1987, but value of $40K invested conservatively for 10yrs should yield more than the total cost of payments.
