Military Power
Ahhhhh, military power. Here's the latest weaponry to be used in Afghanistan. The BLU-82, AKA the Daisy Cutter. Drops from the back of an MC-130 cargo plane and falls to the earth using a parachute. Sprays amonium nitrate and aluminum over the target and then ignites it, casing a crater more than 5 football fields wide. Used in the 70's during the war to instantly clear helicopter landings. Cool stuff guys! Hehehe, I almost feel bad for the Taliban...almost......

FAE's are real bad ju-ju, makes napalm look like a pack of book-matches!
Picture what happens inside one of your trucks cylinders taking place on an area the size of four football fields...
I't's been awhile since I've written, normally I'm ropinthwind1. I am a Marine, somewhere in the arabian sea, aboard the U.S.S Roosevelt. It's cool to see that people back home havn't forgotton us, or more importantly, havn't forgotton sept 11. We've dropped enough ordnance to level NYC, and that's just our squadron. Anyone who want's they're name on a bomb, lemme know. I'll hook you up.
here's a pic of the first marine aircraft to drop on the enemy:

I don't need my name on ordnance; but I do have a request: You folks come home safe when you think the job is done.
Take care.

‘DAISY CUTTER’ BOMBING
U.S. officials said Tuesday that U.S. forces had employed the largest conventional weapon in their arsenal — the 15,000 BLU-82 bomb — and hope it will give rebels a much-needed boost. Marine Corps Gen. Peter Pace, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, on Tuesday confirmed an NBC report that two of the bombs were dropped within the last week.
“Their intent is to kill,” he said. He would not say exactly where they were used, but NBC’s Jim Miklaszewski reported Monday that they were being used against Taliban troops. Pace said they were “useful against troops in light defensive positions.”
The 12-foot-long BLU-82 is so enormous that it is dropped by parachute from the back of a modified MC-130 cargo plane, according to its Pentagon specifications sheet. The bomb drops a watery mix of ammonium nitrate and aluminum that mixes with air. A long probe then detonates the mix in a devastating explosion. The shock wave can be felt miles away. The probe — essentially a fuse extender — assures that the explosion occurs five to six feet above the ground, maximizing the lateral blast and chopping off vegetation for hundreds of yards around, inspiring the blast’s “daisy cutter” nickname.
