swap 351s

heyhey. does anybody know if a '85 c6 trans for a 351 fit my 78 351?

If you have a 351M, then no it won't. You will need one from a 351M, 400, 429 or 460. The 85 should be a 351W which uses a small block bolt pattern.

hey
yes the 85 is windsor but the 78 is old i cant find the nubers on the block. is there any other way to tell the dif.? thanks

If it has 8 valve cover bolts its a 351m.

ok the 78 351m the 85 is windsor...well could i swap the carbs? see, the 85 had caught fire from the carb, but i need more time to fix this. so i got the 78 for $500 and now the tranny is shot.
