One tranny...Multiple engines????
I have a '77 F-250. It has the 351M in front of the NP 435 4 speed. My question is what other engines will this tranny bolt to? Will it bolt right up to a 400, 429, or 460? or do I have to get a different bellhousing? Also if I swap out my 351M with one of these engines, what mods will I have to do with my motor mounts or anything else to make these engines fit nicely under the hood? Thanx.

Not too sure about the motor mounts, but the 429/460 will bolt up, 351M and 400M as well. I don't imagine the motor mounts would be too much of a problem, I'm sure someone else will have the proper answer to that part.

the tranny will bolt right up, to any of the engines you listed. the 400 is direct bolt in as the 351m, and 400 are the same block. the 429/460 will take some type of adapter mount L&L makes a swap mount that is a bolt in for that swap

is your truck 2 or 4wd?
2wd you'll need mounts for a 460 swap, 4wd you'll need custom mounts and exhaust, since Ford never put a 460 in a 70s 4x4.
Brackets are different between the 429/460 and the 351M/400
