well, i got the pinpoint test for code 33 from ken about four months ago and FINALLY got around to testing it. it says to test the EGRC/EGRV (EGR Control/Vent) solenoids and this confused me. does that mean the EVR? if not where are the EGRC/EGRV solenoids?
another thing, on my EVR solenoid, is the vehicle harness plugs into a long black plug that then plugs into the EVR solenoid itself. what is the long black plug for? the harness plugs directly into the solenoid but i suppose the long black plug is there for a reason.
lastly, i tried applying vacuum to the egr valve itself but it would hold no vacuum. i had the engine off while i did this. isnt the egr valve suppose to hold vacuum?
my spring break is over soon so any quick advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
i must have a defective egr valve then because it will hold absolutely NO vacuum, the gauge doesnt even go up the slightest bit and then leak down. i ruled out the vac pump so it isnt that. so the egr should hold vacuum no matter when you apply vacuum to it (engine on or engine off)? i will try to get pics of the connector for the evr.
