I got a "Stop N Go" convenience store that sells Diamond Shamrock gas down the road, that changes the price sometimes twice or three times in the same day. The other gas stations wait at least a day or two before they screw you. They got us by the nuts cause they know that you have to have fuel.
exactly nightowl, they realize, hey, they need what we have, simple supply and demand, demand goes up, so does the price, they realize they can charge more for the same product, and WE WILL PAY FOR IT!

come on up to vernon went to 209.9 yesterday at the abdul store and he's the cheap one.
haha, I'm sure prices have gone up since I last filled up, that was 3 days ago. I just saw 2.09, but was at a station nortorious for being high.
In the rich towns, like Rumson/Fair Haven, its always like 15 cents higher then the local average, and in the poor towns/undeveloped areas, its usually at least 5 cents below the local average. Then there are the high traffic areas, like right off Route 18. No surprise there...

JerseysBest...sounds like you're up north of me. I just saw today that our local super Wawa, usually a good indicator of what prices are doing, has finally broken the $2 mark. There's a guy near us who has had at least one grade of fuel priced over $2 for at least a year now, if not more.
I remember tearing down the A.C. Expressway in my old Monte Carlo and filling up with Sunoco's highest grade at the pump for $0.89 / gallon.....only 5 years ago!!! And that was at a tourist trap rest stop.
I was talking with the manager of the Coop gas station last Wednesday when I filled up.He told me he got a deal on the fuel that is in the tanks.
He had his price for reg set at $0.79.9/L for weeks with oher gas bars right with him.
The day after I filled up the other gas stations raised their price to $0.86.9/L
Coop held off until 2 days ago when he finally raised him.
I stopped in to ask why he finally boosted the price.
His response was , My cheap gasoline lasted until this morning & I just got a delivery of fuel that cost more.
Nice of the guy to allow us customer's to be part of the savings...Eh ?
He also stays competitive to get the town people's business instead of them driving to the city.
We also get a 5 cent a Litre discount when we use our Co-op Card for the purchase.
He also has deals inside (for those that bother to go in)
ie:11 oz Can of Peanuts & 600ml Soda for $2.25
The gas here changes 3 times a day. Friday I left to go out to eat and it was 2.09 for a gallon, and by the time I was driving home (not more than an hour later) it was 2.17... what's this about? Made up gas numbers.. it's like they're inside drawing for numbers to put up. But it's not as bad as when I was on my way to St Louis a few months ago and they tried making me pay over $7 a gallon!!! I was filling up, and right when I started a guy inside "accidently" changed the price so I go inside to pay and find out my bill was over $140! I was like umm... that's a minivan out there, with one gas tank.. I think you better check your computer. So they found out the were charging $7.14 per gallon, and had to change it back to $2.12... bummer for them.
Just a question about the site.. my computer is showing it's 3:14 and I just posted it said it was 2:12 (since I can't post more than once per 60 seconds). Usually both time coordinate.. did FTE forget to spring forward an hour?
Here in North Bend, WA. half our stations are owned by one family. So I know there is price fixing. At the interstate, 3/4 mi. from the center of town, chevron, around 2.50 reg., diesel, around $2.70; their Shell across the street, 02-03 cents less (all grades); their Shell down town (remember 3/4 mi.) is 03-04 cents less than their Shell at the interstate. The other 2 stations we have are only 02 cents less in all grades than the 3 other family owned stations. when prices were more or less stable and lower the 2 stations not owned by this family was much lower, by at leasy 05-08 cents less per gal. Now the only differance is just two cents per/gal. Price fixing/ nah.
AND have ya noticed, the minute, and I mean the minute the price of crude goes up so does the price of fuel but when the the price of crude has dropped for a few days price of fuel still creeps up but never back down.
I hate getting gas!!!!!!!! Why duz it have to be so high?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? One of the cheapest in south eastern Wisconson is about $2.17 but that was like 3 or 4 days ago so im not sure what it is now!!!
