I have a 79 F-150 4x4 with 400 and a C6. I don't have spark out of the coil. I tried a new coil, ignition module, and a magnetic pickup. I also replaced the wiring harness with a painless performance however I had the problem before. I would like to know what and how to read the signal from the magnetic pickup to the module, and from the module to the coil. The wires all have continutity from end to end. One of these is not working. Please help!!!!!

The ignition module is new as well as the stator. It is all wired correctly and I have good grounds. But I still not get spark out of the coil. According to MSD the coil is good. I have coil spark wire unhooked trying to see if I have spark out of the tower. Does anybody know how to read signal with a multimeter from the stator to the module and the module to the coil? Thanks any help is appreciated.

Put your meter + lead on the negative of the coil. Put the - lead of the meter on the engine block(ground). When you crank the engine, you should see the meter flicker on and off.
To Franklin2,
What type of meter? digital or analog. Are you saying to set the meter to an ohm setting? If I don't have my meter flicker on and off then what? Thanks
I had a bad coil. I guess MSD was wrong. I used a test light and attached ground clip to ground and put tip on negative side of coil and the light flickered when cranking so I replaced the coil and presto. Thanks for your help everyone......
