Radiator core support question

Only 1 bolt holding U shaped core to the frame. We talked about this earlier and was told their were 2 bolts with shims. Mine only had 1 and it was in the middle. The crossmember had 2 holes, one on either side of the big hole in the middle, ( I guess that's 3) but the core itself only had the 1 in the middle. There is a plate riveted to the bottom of the core support and the rivets are right over the holes in the xmember. This plate and rivets are factory I'm pretty sure. Has somthing been changed? What do you guys think? I hope this makes sence, it's been a long day in the garage. Thanks...

I looked in my parts books and it shows 2 bolts for all models, 53-56. The support is the same for all models except parcel deliveries. I have 3 different copies of the books ( 48-54, 48-55 and 48-56) and there's minor part number changes, but they all call for 2 bolts. Even my F-600-900 book shows 2. What does the hole in the frame look like? Does it looked drilled or stamped out? You've got a oddball there.

Hi Barry, the hole in the middle looks hand drilled. Somebody did that to make it work.(wobbles side to side) The other two look stamped from the factory. But no holes in the core support. Thanks....

Ok, Went out to the shop and checked again. There are 2 holes dead center on the xmember, one right in front of the other. Then there is a hole on each side of them, about 4in. on either side. The core support only has the two that are dead center. So there is no way to adjust the core from side to side.

xfordman, I can't remember if they were threaded studs from core support or threaded holes, but they are definitely their with maybe about 1/2 rubber spacer.

I didn't have any side to side adjustment to speak of either, other than if you tighten one side tighter you can lean core support that way.

I hope this makes sense.
