Hi, well spring is in the air and i'll be getting ready to get my 1960 F100 delivered to my house out of storage in about a month. Unfortunately i'm going to be sidelined from working on my truck for about 2 months due to knee surgery at any rate, i'll have plenty of time to do some reading on this BB as well as buying some manuals. I googled 1960 F100 shop manual and didn't find much. I did find the following book called "How to restore your ford Pickup 1946-1967" Does anyone have this manual and if so how is it? Also, any suggestions on where I can buy some literature on the 1960 F100 such as shop and repair manuals. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have "How to restore your ford Pickup 1946-1967" and I like it. I think it is definitely worth it, whether you do all your own work or just part of it.
Look at ebay for manuals and such for your 1960 Ford truck.
The shop and repair manual is one and the same. Look on the store here for shop manuals. Also look on E Bay for shop manuals. I also recommend getting a set of parts books if you're going to really tear into your truck. Nice exploded drawing on what fits where. THey list the individual years as a single book or you can get the 57-63 set ( 2 text, 1 illustration) There is a 57-63 set on there right now starting at $80.00 . I don't know if it's complete. That's also a good place to get sales brochures if you want those. I'm not plugging that site, but I've found alot of printed material there. I hate the auction fever people get, but if you want it, it's there. If you don't want to go to the expense, I've got those books and can scan pics or even locate NOS parts for you.Always happy to help!
I think the "parts and accessories" manuals are a great addition to the shop manual, especially if you're going deep in tearing things down. Some assemblies are not explained all that great in the shop manual, but the parts book goes into painful detail including fantastic exploded diagrams where they list all the relevant part numbers for each piece. The books are pretty easy to find at all the places mentioned above, and don't forget the hosts here....have a look through Motorhaven!
