i had a battery problem yesterday and took out the alternator to have it tested as well. the alternator was working but the wierd thing is that its not anything close to stock, it was bosch. the auto parts guy couldnt even order it in his store. dont get me wrong, all the wires are correct and everything works perfectly for now, but how the hell does something like that end up in a bronco? is there a conversion for that, and if so whats it for??
thanks
oh, its on a 302 v8..just in case someone wondered..
thanks again,
me
When I replaced the alternator on my '88 ranger pickup about 10 years ago BOSCH replacemant from NAPA. Worked great had lifetime warranty.
Seems like the last one I replaced, on my wifes '98 GMC Safari was also BOSCH.
My brother in law works for NAPA thats were I get most of my parts. The BOSCH alternators were new not rebuilt.
World Market kinda strange what seems to be a German company making replacement parts for amercian built cars. You never know where they are made.
I got brake rotors a year ago manufactured in Brazil.
I also have a BOSCH alternator. They work great. Bosch and (Nippo)Denso are all about electrical components on any vehicle. But, yeah the BOSCH alternator are good to use especially with that lifetime warranty. BUT>>>>Don't put BOSCH sparkplugs in your truck! your engine wont like it.
