I think I have a problem, I have an 05 4x4 250 with 6.0. I loaded in the scmt on the tow safe program with no problem. I then loaded the economy program and only when the truck is cold I start it let it warm for a few minutes and put it into reverse and there is a long pause then wham it goes in. Prob takes about 3 to 4 seconds to go in. Any Ideas? I have a 6 inch skyjacker with 35 12.50`s & 18`s, my dealer re-flashed the truck for the bigger tires before it was installed. I haven`t any other mods but an AFE intake. Any help from you techno dudes would be great. Oh the truck only has 2100 miles.
Check out the transmission recall threads. The very sympton you describe is related to metal contamination cause by a pin backing out of the reverse planetary gear cluster.

No, you were trying to discount the seriousness of his tone, which is not fair to Tim. Why would you try to undermine him like that?
Tim stated specifically (capital letters) not to post in this thread unless you OWN a sc tuner. It avoids nonsensical correspondence, like that which now exists between you an I.
Notice.....I stay the heck out of predator threads and haven't posted in one in many months.
If there is to be control in here, we must act with a little class and common courtesy.

This symptom is a pause followed by "skipping" and slippage in both forward and reverse.
The one in question here is the time delay that has been installed into the newest flash in order to address the snap ring issues in the late 04 and 05 model trucks.

When I have time, I'm going to overlay the files to confirm the change in the new flash.
When I have time, I'm going to overlay the files to confirm the change in the new flash.
That would be great
I have the old flash stored, however after playing for about half an hour today I still haven't located the actual hex addresses for those parameters.
In my Advantage software, it is labeled as "time_to_delay_lock_primary_drive" and "time_to_delay_lock_reverse" within the scalars. I believe I remember seeing these values for the manual shifts for 1, 2, and 3 also, somewhere further down in the main parameters. I have only looked at them with the base files I have now; I have not loaded the old saved values files into the program I am currently running.
Don't test Tim, he's showing far more patience than I'm ready to show in this matter. The problems that haven't stopped:
1. People can't seem to comment on what they like without commenting negatively on everything else.
2. People are actively undermining Ford Truck Enthusiasts, Inc. behind the scenes telling others to go to other companies for the very products we sell. I don't know what their motives are but they're really close to being escorted to the doors. Yeah, this is a forum, but its also my living and the living of several employees... I don't go into Ace Hardware and tell customers to go to TruValue, I expect the same courtesy here.
3. People claiming they are innocent in stirring the pot when they aren't, saying they aren't making comments about products when they are. For example:
The predator has a higher spike in the powerband (which makes more power than stock throughout), but the scmt has a CONSIDERABLY longer powerband (which also makes more power than stock throughout)
If the predator makes 10 more HP in a VERY narrow area, but the SCMT makes more consistent power for much longer, you decide which is best for you!
The Predator makes power.
Both have their own following.
Those in "the know", know what the difference is, and there is a BIG difference. There is a BIG difference in what and how much is tuned.
Yes, I have seen the differences (as have others) myself in live testing.
4. People with "friends" in the industry are making comments about products sold by companies competing with their friends. Some of these people are the same people engaged in action 2 above.
5. People calling others liars. This has to stop as well. If you have a problem with vendor's employee on a personal level, take it up with them privately.
Basically, an entire group of people who can't keep their egos in check have turned this section of the site into a big pig-pen every time tuners are brought up. People come here for help and answers --- instead get treated to the worse we have to offer when they should get the best.
