replaced ashtray

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD bgColor=#dfdfdf colSpan=2> took a peice of alluminum cut it slightly bigger yhan that old ash tray that kept fallen out, painted it with some cast aluminum paint and just stuck it in, planing on putting some swithes in there, originally i planned to cut a ford emblem in it and put a light behind it.</TD></TR><TR><TD align=middle bgColor=#ffffff colSpan=2></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Hey Jim - it looks good.

You could still put a Ford emblem in. Cover the plate using black vinyl to match the dash trim and cut the Ford into the vinyl. The cast aluminium would show plus it would give a unique look.

Since I don't smoke, I'm going to take the guts out of the ashtray and install two power points in the section just under the handle lip. That way I can plug in my laptop, charge my nextel, and use my remote light if necessry to read plans in the early mornings and late evenings on jobsites. I have a nifty little 12v light with an adjustable magnetic base that will flood the entire hood area well enough to work in the dark very well. The power-points will be somewhat hidden by the lip/handle and should look factory for the most part if I do my part.
