Problems passing gas
My 88 F-150 4.9L swb has the dual tanks option. Great for travel; I only had to stop 3 times for gas going from NY to Daytona Beach for Bike Week, once in NY before I left, once halfway there and once when I got there. Anyhow, I noticed a leak around the top of the center tank. I dropped the tank today to find that a little pinhole due to heavy rust was peeing out fuel from the feed side 90* bend, right onto (of all places) the elecrical block connector for the fuel pump assembly. I then tried to remove the wire harness and fuel lines, but the plastic wire connector was so damaged that it simply crumbled as old stale bread would. So now I am left with 4 wires, and am not sure as to where they go on the new connector block (that is on order, along with a new fuel pump, as I can't just get pieces of the fuel pump assembly, for i.e. just the top half that I need; float, pump, and lower portion is fine, just the rusted top half I actually need). The 4 wires are of the same diameter and are coded red, orange, black (ground I assume) and blue w/yellow tracer. What goes to what? I don't have a wiring diagram. Also, can I just draw off the rear tank, so I don't have to bum a ride to work this week? Thx in advance.
