man, you guys in canada are paying way too much for your trucks. to get that money here (since canadian dollars are even with us, damn our economy is down the crapper!) you would have to be way under 100k and CC. dont even think you could get that much for that.

I'm at a loss to explain that too. Only once did I ever see a truck of our era in the $8000+ range. In my own town no less LOL!!!
If however something is super clean and original inside outside and underside, then it comes down to a pateint seller and a buyer that knows what he wants (translation: book value goes out the window).
If I could find a factory original truck like mine I would certainly consider forking out that kind of cash, but they just don't exist up here.
You don't want to know what wholesale value on my 96 PSD is... $1250 when I paid the taxes on it to register it, and it's an XLT, fully loaded ex cab long bed 4x4 with 348KM...
Sad part is I still paid more in tax than I paid for the truck... LOL
I just bought mine a month ago, a 1992 F350 XLT with a 7.3. Very clean, no rust, 230000kms. truck is loaded with everthing, has mags, set for hauling a camper, and has hithches at both ends, canopy, stereo with bluetooth, and original paint!!!!! Very, very clean, one owner, and it had all the injectors, pump, and lines done. Cost me a whole $5500, and I don't think I could have found a nicer truck. I lookef for almost a year, and was suffering in pain with my 1991 F150 XLT Lariat with a 351 (it was loaded to!!).

You aren't kidding. When I follow the posts here I can't believe the price differences between you guys and us up here.
I bought a super clean, totally stock one owner 91 Non turbo reg cab with 145K miles for $6800, and was looking for a couple of years for that. I was a happy guy till I saw your prices. You wouldn't believe some of the crap in the $5 - 7000 range up here.
The assessed value for my truck is $1400 something. I think they do 75% of the value for the assessed value so that would be $1900 or so. Sounds about right.
On the plus side my yearly tax is $50. Can't beat that.
Local trucks in extra clean condition with low miles always get high dollars here in Canada. Question is when buying, get a dented rust bucket with 350000 + Kms that has been smoked in and had the German Shepard tear up the seat belts, or pay high dollars for a superb low km 1 owner? Mine was owned by a guy who used it for hunting and was garage kept! No dried up seals, and no faded paint like on my old 1991 F150!!! Couldn't be happier, just can't figure out how to post the photo!
PS there is a mint F250 for sale with less than 100000 Kms for @ $9500, but it's got the 7.5 and I think the 7.3 IDI is way better!!
