improvements over what is currently available:
update the dash
center console mounted shifter option with the ability to select each gear, preferably in a layout like the Lexus GX 470 (floor operated part-time 4wd in front of the gear shifter)
more lateral support for the bucket seats
six speed TorqShift with 6th being a higher OD for when driving empty (maybe throw in two or three different rear end ratios so that people can tailor it to what they need)
a lower geared reverse similar to GM's Allison (I know plowers want a high reverse, but backing up a trailer up a grade could stand a little help)
factory exhaust braking capacity tied in with the TowCommand system -- seems to me that it should be easy enough to do
U-connect hands free phone system sure is nice
Factory big screen navigation system
HomeLink for the garage door opener
wider rims
convince Toyo to make MT's that fit without a lift
Things to keep:
that tough truck look
straight up and down sides -- so much easier to lift things in and out of
segment leading capabilities
What would you guys like to see???
I plow, I like my reverse the way it is..

I would also like to see higher ground clearance and a place under the front bumper for a hidden, integrated winch like the dodge power wagon. A bigger standard V8 would be nice too.
#1. Updated interior. Not so flat and featurless.
#2. Make door panels that don't bang and rattle on every bump.
#3. Get rid of that old F-150 tailgate. It seems that the truck was built around it.
#4. Get rid of the old F-150 taillights.
#5. Make it a Ford Dealer option for PCM tuning.
#6. Find a better design for the 05' 17" & 18" rims.
#7. Bag continental tires.
#8. Be albe to turn to cargo light on without turning the dome light on too.
As you can see most, if not all is superficial stuff. Ford has a pretty damn good truck here and wee see what messing with it gets you! 5sp torqueshift for example. Update the styling and leave the rest alone.
The tonka concept is neat. But I would have a tough time driving that all the time. I like the cues for the present day super duty in that truck. Good start but just refine it a bit.
fire the present Q & Engineering department and hire some folks with something between their ears,,
start listening to the public because Asia is going to pass ya up,,
I really don't want to drive a foreign truck. What kind of message would that be sending to my tractor or cattle? They would have to hang their heads....

No Way .... This a great pulling and hauling motor for a gasser. A V8 will never give you the torque numbers like the V10. Two extra cyclinders.
I love My V10......it's the best thing about my truck. It has all the power anyone would need in a gasser super duty. And if that's not enough....supercharge it. The 05' V10 has more stock HP than the 5.7L Hemi.
MY BELOVED V10
Can you tell how much I love this engine?
I dont stand with others in the V10 PSD war.
available on the 2005.
I just hope that they keep the solid front axle. I was in the process of ordering my 2005 when i decided to hold out until 2007. Surely the 97 F-250 has got another year in it. If i wait and they go to independant front end, I will be very dissapointed. If they do that i will buy an 06 and NOT an 07. All i can do is hope ive made the right decision.
Sorry I blacked out there for a second, what was I saying?
super
The real reason that we don't want this form of suspension is the cost. SFA is cheaper to produce than IFS and hopefully these savings are passed on to us.
IFS would provide some real advantages, but I will leave that for Ford to figure out. I believe that it is a moot point as it is, Ford will probably stick with SFA IMO.
