Buying question

I'm almost ready to get a new FX4. I've been on FTE a lot lately and have learned a ton, but still not sure on one thing. I'm eligible for the x plan but it sounds like many people do better without it. From what I've read here, the x plan price is very close to invoice and it's a set price. It looks like just by making a few calls, everyone has been able to get to $500 or more below invoice. Question is, should I even bother with the x plan process or just forget about it and just start calling fleet managers?
Thanks.

Too bad you live in California. Otherwise you could call Jeff in Victor, NY.

It all depends on what other private offers you are eligible for. Just so you know, you can't use A/X/D/Z plan pricing and use private offers (College student discount, AQHA, etc...) Go to Ford Direct and build your truck and it will give you X-Plan prices for similar trucks. Then just do a comparison of X-plan vs $500 under invoice. You still are eligible for Ford's national rebates or finance offers with the X-plan. Plus you can finance through Ford credit and get another $1000 and refinance later because Ford's rates are terrible.
