98 expedition rear differential
ok.. i have a 98 expedition. the rear end was leaking so i got a gasket and the syntheic oil.. here is my problem. both of my repair manuals state there is a oil fill plug in the front side of the rear axle housing. i can not find that plug. i can only find a sensor that is near the top of the housing. if i take off the sensor i can fill it from there. but how much oil to put in to it.. both manuals state to put 5.7 pts of oil in.. which is almost 3 quarts. i can not feel the oil when i put my finger in the hole as stated in the repair manuals. so i put in another quart with is now 4 quarts or 8 pints. and still can not feel the oil. i have both tags from the rear axel housing.
