Question Walker "Downpipe"

First off, thanks for all the good info you guys are posting on this board and all the help you are giving to us poor souls not used to the I-6.

Just to make sure before I order one.....

My question is,

I I order the y-pipe, will it replace the current system back past the second cat? You know, where a nice aftermarket exhaust will hook straight up to it out of the box. Also, just to make sure, it is 2.5" at that point also, correct? I've seen the pics of it, just wanted to triple check before ordering.

Truck is an 1988 Short bed standard cab 2wd with the 300 and a C-6(maybe an AOD soon though).

TIA!!

Are you talking about the "walker 45166" EFI down pipe. If so it will only extend past the cross member and end where the Cat should be. You will need an extension pipe to reach the muffler.

Thanks.

That's the one I'm talking about. That answered my question about hooking it to a cat-back exhaust.

Is the outlet on it 2.5"?

I ended up going 2.5 out the walker pipe into a cat, 2.5 out the cat adapted up to 3" into my flowmaster 50 series muffler, and the muffler at dual 2.5s. I bought the flowmaster kit from summit racing.

I'll know myself Monday night. Ordered the walker pipe, flowmaster catback , 2.5 to 3" slip-fit adapter, and a 2.5" and 3" band clamps(easy on/off) to tie the system all together. Should help some in the get up and go dept. too.

Thanks for all the input!!
