Walker downpipe

Now that I have my EFI manifolds for my 82 F100, im looking for the correct walker downpipe. I searched the forum and found part number 45166. Walkers website lists 15739 for 87-95 years but that looks like it comes with a cat which I don't need. I just want the downpipe. For those of you that have the walker downpipe is 45166 the correct number? Also what is the diameter of the downpipe, I think its 2 1/2 which should work great for my 300. Thanks Fred

45166 is the right number for "F" series. The pipe dia is 1.5 inch and it will fit around the starter and over the cross member.

Thanks for the info. I found advance auto parts has the downpipe for $55.88. I heard JC whitney has them but I had no luck finding them on the website or in the catalog. I'll check napa as well, but the website for them is down right now. Where did you get yours and how much did it cost? Thanks Fred

NAPA listed them for about $60.00 but a chain store "Bumper 2 Bumper" ordered it for me at $69.00 and would let me take it home to see if it would fit and if not return for a refund!

Can I ask a silly question?

My mechanical knowledge pretty much stops at basic stuff like brakes/plugs/filters/alternators, etc.
I'm spending tons of time in here trying to learn as much as possible and eventually start upgrading my 1994 EFI I6 4.9. Would somebody mind clueing me in on this 'downpipe'.
What part, exactly, is this and what/how big an effect does it have on the performance?

Thanks!

it is for use with the EFI manifolds
basically it's a y-pipe

since you've got a '94, you can either opt to use this, or take your stock piping up to the first cat and run dual exhaust with that (what i did)
you'll have true duals with this method

It is 2 1/2" diameter. When you get it, look down the second, short pipe and see if it needs to be "deburred". I had to grind out 1/2" of material from inside this pipe.
