460 leaking coolant
I have a 1993 f250 with a 460 motor. I have a small amount of coolant leaking just below the thermostat housing. It's a small amount that sits on the rubber gasket of the intake manifold. It's not there all the time. Might be evaporating but I'm not sure. Sometimes there is a little sitting on top of the water pump. I don't think there has ever been more then a tablespoon. My question is - is it worth taking the intake manifold off and putting on a new gasket. The oil doesn't show that there is any coolant getting to the oil. I'm concerned that some of the coolant could be leaking into the valley of the block and may cause some trouble when I'm pulling my travel trailer. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a 88 w a 460. If we are the same you should have a hose about 2"long going from the top of your pump straight to the front of the block. Keep an eye on that little SOB. It has been a constant pain in my side as far as coolant leaks go. The plus side is if you cut it and bend it just right you can replace it without pulling the whole pump. I have to change mine about every 3 years. Hope this helps, Karl........
