Future Bronco

I remember seeing a Bronco Concept. Do you think Ford might remake the Bronco? I have never had a bronco but I might one day want one. The concept they had looked awsome but It dosent seem like it would sell becuase im guessing it would be a "gas hog" or to much power then people know what to do with. Like I said before...do you think Ford will remake the Bronco.

The concept and everything to do with it has been yanked from every official Ford website and no literature other than the preliminary info that came out last year exists.

My initial thoughts based on this developement are that they realized that if they are gonna go retro and bring back the Bronco nameplate, they had better go all the way.

The early information showed that they were planning on making the "new Bronco" a "cute ute". Basically, it lacked severly in the single most important aspect - Drivetrain. Any vehicle bearing the Bronco nameplate has some BIG shoes to fill in this area and the initial information on the concept was that the new version would derive its drivetrain and suspension components from the tiny little (useless if you ask me) Escape model. From its inception in 1966 the Bronco was released with "big truck" driveline and suspension components under it. This is what anyone who knows ANYTHING about the Bronco will be looking for if a new version should be introduced. Most everyone I talked to and shared ideas with from both the Early Bronco and Big Bronco enthusiast circles agreed that stuffing the spindly little Escape components under a new "Bronco" model would be an affront to the original Bronco concept and an insult to the Bronco enthusiast community. I would like to think that through feedback from potential customers and the numerous letters, comments, and so forth all sent to Ford, they stepped back and took a more serious look at what kind of vehicle they would produce bearing the Bronco name. Many people were also of the mind that Ford really didn't need another new SUV patterned just like the FOUR others it already produces. Perhaps Ford realized this too. I doubt it though.

In reality, I don't see Ford figuring this out until they are a day late and a dollar short. In the "here and now" the industry is seeing more heavy-duty vehicles hit the market than ever before. Jeep is making a killing with the Rubicon verison of the TJ because its already got a lot of the bells and whistles that the off-road and 4WD communities want. GM, Daimler/Chrysler, Toyota, even HONDA see the reality that people want a vehicle sturdy enough to take off the beaten path. They are producing and introducing vehicles that the adventurous communities want. Ford seems to be content to satisfy the soccer moms and posers of the world by making SUV's that may or may not be of ANY real use off the beaten path. How many Escape, Explorer, and Expedition owners are lifting, regearing and trail-fortifying their vehicles? Not many... the vehicle was too expensive in the first place and the underpinnings aren't up to the challenge. The Explorer has gained the rather derogatory nickname "Exploder" from the Bridgestone epidemic and the failure-prone front hubs.

I realize I am rattling on but the question calls for a subjective editorializing answer. So there's my take on it. If someone has the wherewithall to send Ford a wake up call on this one, there's no time like the present.

this is a write up on the bronc it was here at the auto show a year or so ago looked a little weak to me.

The silver look is a nice touch but it was a little small but if they made it bigger it would be like an H2 and we dont want that.
