Hey, Fasterhorses ....
"... Put Mobil 1 full synthetic in everything. The limited slip diff quit chattering around corners."
Did you use Mobil 1 75W-140 synthetic, and if you did, did you add additional friction modifier for the LS. The Mobil 1 website states that their 75W-140 synthentic gear lube contains the proper friction modifiers for LS diffs, but additional friction modifier can be added if you want to.
I'm getting ready to change out my rear LS diff lube for the first time and would like to use Mobil 1, but am unsure if I should add friction modifier when they claim they have it in their product. I'm assuming too much is just as bad as not enough,
Thanks for any help ....
Yep, Mobil 1 75W140 in both diffs & no modifier. Its been running smooth as silk for 9 months and 12000 miles of heavy towing. Last month I started to get a little chatter towing and accelerating hard around a corner from a stop but still no chatter when not towing. I am going to add a modifier to the LS diff next week. Just my experience but I would put in the modifier when you change to syn. Good Luck
