Steering Problems????
Hey guys, i have a 97 PSD 4*4 X-cab long bed. I'm sort of a newbie whe it comes to these trucks so bear with me.... Recentely i had my truck into get a front eng allignment done and the guy told me not to bother with the allignment because i needed new ball joints. I went out to the shop and there was deffinately some up and down movemet he said that i should be o.k on them for a little while. Lately, I have developed a slight banging noise in the front end, (which i think may be eather the ball joints or a loose shock mount). Now when i take a turn, the wheel does not come back to stright, i have to move the wheel back to stright which is a safty issue. There is also some slop in the steering as well which happened beforehand..... I'm going to bring the truck in this weekend to have the balljoints done, but i was wondering if there is anything else i should have them look at while there under there?? I'm also going to have them do the Axle pivot bushings, and the U-joints. Should i have them to the ti-rod bushings as well?? what could be causing my steering problem?? i'm hopping i dont need a new power steering pump also because the job alone is gonna run me a grand... thanks
