oil additives

is anybody out there running any kind of additives
started my truck up yesterday and just for a second it sounded like a stuck valve or maybe carbon under the valve seat only did it the once

Just run a good oil that is diesel rated.
With todays oil addative package that is already in the oil, anything you add may mess up something else in the addative package.

In all my vehicles I just use the CI-4 oil and change it in the 93 every 3000 miles. It has 198000 and no problems. Just use oil, as stated by Dave S. you might mess up in the standard additives pkg. you might want to try an additive in the fuel.
