I was told that the F350's had an onboard electric brake controller built into the system. This was told to me by an RV Dealer. Is this true or will I have to add an aftermarket controller to pull 5th wheelers. Mine is an 00 model
The new F350s (05 and newer) have the integrated brake controllers as an option. It is called the TowCommand System.
Setina's right. You'll need to get yourself a brake controller for your 2000 model year truck. I think they are all prewired under the dash for a brake controller. I assume you also have the 7-way connector out back as well. I don't think Ford offers a bix for putting the connector in the bed, unfortunately.
Checked underneath the dash and found the mounting holes where a brake controller had previously been installed by the former owner. When I bought the truck, there was a small oval sticker on the LR window that said "Prodigy". Now I know what it meant.
Ordered a Prodigy and the vehicle specific cable to hook it up. I placed the order with RJay's Speed Shop. Should be here in a few days. Thanks for the help
Ive used RJays several times, there shipping is smokin fast, and their vehicle specific harnesses are the way to go for ease of installation. You wont be disappointed with the Prodigy, it is a GREAT controller.

I just ordered my Prodigy from them on Friday. They had the cheapest price I could find on the internet. Glad to see others have had good luck with them, as well.
