My brand new 05 superduty has the factorty in dash 6 cd changer with an aux button, when you press the aux button the display says "no aux" which is reasonable since no additions have been made. I am looking to add sattelite radio/mp3 and a dvd palyer for our corss country trips. the installer at the local car audio shop called ford and was told that they are waiting for an aftermarket fitting for the aux port that has not been released yet. I am having trouble beliving that ford would outfit a radio with an aux button and not have a port in the radio. Does anyone know the facts about this system?
Believe it cause its true. The 03 and 04's are different. Common sense would dicate you would put a couple of RCA plugs but there are lots of threads on here of folks that are waiting. I am still not sure how to get the radio out as I understand its different than earlier models too.
PIE AND BLITZSAFE will have adapters next month. The PIE AUX Adapter for the 2005 f250 and 05 150 will be FRD-03 AUX 150. I have been waiting months to get my XM off the FM modulator. I have spoken to both companies, and June is the majic month for release. Check out thier web sites and then call them and bug the engineers to get finished. The AUX button on the 2005 6Cd changer is for the DVD player on the f150. (same radio) This change from the 16 and 24 pin outputs caused a big problem for the aftermarket guys. Expect to pay 70-80 dollars retail.
On the 2005 F-150's the 6 Disc CD shanger has an additional position. The radio has a DVD and an Aux position, I don't know it the Aux is tied in to the RCA's located in the overhead DVD or if it is an additiaonal input.
