I have the Aerostar 4.0L extended AWD version. On the rear air absolutely NO air comes out. Is there a circuit breaker or something else I can check? It worked fine for years and one day just stopped working. It sucks because it is really cold where I live in the winter
Bad fan motor, Bad switch, loose wire. Get a test light or volt meter and check them.
Is it difficult to replace the fan motor in the rear? I just bought a new motor and I am going to try to tackle that job ... any advise ... hopefully the Chiltons will guide me.
Just remove the middle seat if any and you can get at all the screws easy. Just remove the panel and you will see it. While your in there clean all the dust and stuff that gets back there off.
On the driver's side , along the wall in the back, there is a small recess pocket to keep little stuff. In the recess, there is a panel held by two screws. Open these screws and the panel flips open. In the panel are a bunch of fuses. I have no idea what those fuses are for but I imagine they had to do with the rear A/C. I think they are worth a little investigation, and please post what you find out.

I can not find what you are talking about ... there is the recess that is right next to the rear bench seat ... i can't seem to find any panels in there ... and then there is the one right above the heater blower and i unscrewed that little panel and didn't see any fuses
Some are for the fuel pump shut off. If you look at a 1990 model fuse block it has 3 more fuse slots. The 1993~1997 have less. They replaced them with box relays and moved some of it around. I think one goes to the Rear window wiper and defroster.
I took my cover off yesterday to install my speakers and amps. While I was digging aroung and cleaning the 300 straws ans a spoon I found some snap-on wrenches in there. Which made me start digging on both sides
