Today, I learned a few things about romping in the mud.
1) AT tires suck really bad
2) NP435s suck- Reverse is way too low to clean out ATs in gumbo crick mud
3) only having the rear locked doesn't cut it
4) lowering tire pressure in mud does help
5) you can get stuck even if your pumpkins aren't dragging in the mud
I'd go take some pics, but most of you guys would laugh
rub it in Edited i have yet to get mine running for this year. just kidding man glad to see SOMEONE has been romping around! i should be up and going by the end of this week, but as we all know i am slow as christmas! lol

Reason: Bumping filter
A winch wouldn't have done me any good there...unless it was a 30,000# pto winch. Thats why I don't bother with winches. You guys have seen how much lift I have sitting on top of my 44's...if you notice my front hitch is in the mud! Yea, I was buried that deep, sitting on my frame.
Another Ford about as big & powerfull as mine yanked and yanked untill finally I was able to get out with plenty use of the throttle.
They had a backhoe on tracks that could have pulled me out. The big ol' blue Ford wanted a Ford to yank a Ford out though It was a tough extraction, even though his truck was pretty bad **** and I was standing on the skinny pedal....but I had that back hoe to fall back on. They also had a crane and a skidder up at the house above the muddin property.
edit: Thanks for the link to the pic Trey. Thats Ivan hooking me up...

When you guys wheel, you do it right You should see some of the clay/sand/water mud/shat we get up here. Theres always room for a winch, but I can see where in that instance, theres really nothing you can do. When 16 inches of lift and 44's are on the frame, then a winch isnt worth anything. Glad another Ford got the task done
So what yer saying is that Ivan pulled you cause i thought his was second or the first most powerful Ford up there. But since you didn't mention Ivan i'm assuming that he wasn't around to pull you out?
No, Ivan is the blonde dude in the pic hooking up the strap. His truck isn't quite finished yet...but it'll be a barn burner when he's done. I could tell you who had the most powerfull Ford up there but it would be a biased answer
Well, there was a lame *** truck with ags under it and a blower... so lame the skidder was hauling it off earlier, i think my truck and another together could have got ya seth... I may not have 44's, but i am willing to bet that you were one of maybe 2 or 3 trucks with more power, and that is it.
