help with final touches on EFI conversion
When you reconnect the IAB and restart for the final time, you can leave the accessories on and then turn them off to verify that the rpm will stabilize where you set it. When setting the idle, the accessories are turned on to help simulate the increased engine load from the alternator. You could also have someone cycling the steering while you're setting it, but it's not really necessary.
My info has come from several years of research on the net, books such as the Probst EFI manual and notes taken from factory shop manuals. Most of what I have deals specifically with Ford 5.0- 7.5L engines and OE engine control. And I've done several EFI swaps from Ford and GM into several different vehicles. And one of my next projects is to repower my F350 with an '02 or newer Cummins ISB.
