Alternator...where does this plug in?
I have an 84 f-350. I changed the alternator recently, thinking that it was shot. New alternator...same thing. Turns out, one of the three wires in the back of the alternator isn't plugged in where it should. The battery and field wires are connected but the stater wire isn't. There are no connections anywhere in the engine, that I can see this plugging into. One parts guy told me it goes to the distributor. However, the only three wires coming out of it go to a harness, then off to a voltage regulator...opposite side of the engine. Where does this thing plug into? I'm killing my batteries! Thanks in advance.
