ordering truck how long does it take
I ordered a f350 lariat sc lb 6.0 6 speed manual with all options on nov 30th-- the dealer said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get-- so I gave him a call mid jan and he said ford would not build it because it was a personal truck--- so he reordered it on jan 21st
through fleet-- so ok I just run it through the my shop--- I was told two weeks ago that it would arive on march 14th--- NO TRUCK-- talked to him today and he said he did not know where it is-- when or if it has been built-- he said he did get a serial number from ford --so how long did it take for all you that ordered yours?

Mine took about 50 days. I ordered mine right aroound thanksgiving and it came in on Jan 10th. Depending on what code he used will determine the order it will be built. You also have to factor in any plant shut downs holiday etc. Bottom line if he can't give you a straight answer within a day, Cancel your order and go with Jeff in Victor, NY

Not built because it was a personal truck. BS - that's a crock of bull manure.

I sat at the fleet mgr's desk and watched him punch the numbers into the computer after we agreed on the price. He said it would take at least six to eight weeks and not before. It was delivered exactly in one month to the day.
I basically watched it come down the assembly line as soon as a VIN was assigned to the unit.
I believe I'd be asking someone some serious questions.

the dealer did give me a code of c1 not sure what that meens-- I will give him a call on monday and ask for an honest answer of when delivery will be since I sold my 97 7.3 psd and will be truckless! If I do not get the answer I need maybe I need to go to another dealer not what I really want to do since I have waited so long

Mine took just a hair over 4 weeks. Your dealer is not being honest with you, if he cannot get it ordered you need to know so you can go to a different dealer.

The truck is tracked by the dealer number and dealer PO order number or VIN.
You can call the Ford 800 number and you must give the computer/voice generated, those numbers. It's easier to give the dealer order number than the VIN.
You must speak clearly, distinctly and in Standard Ameridcan English.
If you don't you never will get the computer to recognize the series of numbers. Sorry, I don't have the 800 number with me since I'm traveling.
Do a search, it's in the files from about this time last year.
