Neighbor (nicely) pointed out that my exhaust left carbon deposits on the side of her car. Our spaces are beside each other with the usual 1-2' between the vehicles.
So, the question is: is this normal?
I notice occasionally (cold cold mornings, <10F, doesn't always happen) that there's a bit of smoke and the engine is a bit rough for 3-10 seconds.
Smoke is common on initial start up. AS humans we have the tendancy to step on the throttle to start an engine, which is adding more fuel to the cylinders. Cold cylinders have a harder time burning all the fuel when they are cold, therefore, smoke out the pipe. Also, being turbo charged, the fuel is set up a bit more than naturally aspirated. Try parking with the exhaust pointing the other way so the smoke doesnt get on the good neighbor's car or get yourself a turndown exhaust extension.
